Eating Less in P3 = Weight Gain

Print Friendly

Those who eat less than they should are shocked and upset when they actually gain weight. If you go back to Pounds and Inches, you will see that Dr. Simeons comments on people that eat less than they should on P3 and how it results in a weight gain. When they go back to the basics, counting calories, watching protein and fat amounts, etc., they lose and are able to stay in the maintaining range.

scale1One of the reasons we suggest that people calculate the calories, especially in the beginning of P3, is to help them understand the amount of calories as well as their protein and fat intake that they need in order to maintain their weight. If you eat too little you will actually gain weight and no body wants to gain! If you are in Phase 3 and you are frustrated with a weight gain, go back to the basics! Use fitday.com and calculate your calories, count your protein and fat percentages and you will be back on track!

  1. My problem is overconfidence. I lost 45 pounds during 2 rounds of Phase 2. I looked good and got a lot of compliments. They went straight to my head. I began to over-eat and I ate both starches and sugars within 4 days of phase 3 and have added 5 pounds already! (I know starch and sugar was a no-no. But don’t judge me! It was the week of the holiday!) I did 2 steak days, but one of them was not the same day as the 2-pound gain, and neither steak day brought me back within my 2 pound range. I can’t keep doing steak days! And I’m beyond the 2 pound gain! Have I ruined my potential for maintaining my weight loss? Is it impossible for me to get back on track? Please email your reply. I am not computer savvy and can’t follow the blogs. Sorry. (I’m trying.)

  3. Bea: I would recommend detoxing, doing an apple day and make sure your protein intake is at 60%. You should be able to get back on track. Make sure you are stable for at least 3 weeks before moving on to phase 4 or back to Phase 2. Stabilization is key so your weight should stablize at 2 lbs below or above your last dosage weight. Let me know if I can be of further help.
